Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
Your faith journey is a gift of grace. It begins with a call from God. This call can take many forms. It can take the form of a deep spiritual hunger. It might come through a friend or a spouse. It may arise from witnessing God’s love in action.
RCIA is one way to respond to this call. R.C.I.A. is a ritual process by which adults become full members of the Catholic Church. It is a conversion - a turning toward Jesus Christ and a decision to follow Him in His Church.
R.C.I.A. (Adult) ~ RCIA is for you if you are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith - whether you were raised in a different Christian denomination or have very little religious background. It’s for you if you are looking for a deeper encounter with Jesus Christ. And it’s for you if you were raised Catholic and now wish to be confirmed or simply want to return home.
Our class provides a welcoming environment in which individuals can freely explore questions about Jesus Christ, Scripture, and the teachings of the church.
Schedule/Time Commitment: The 2019-20 R.C.I.A. class will meet on Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30 beginning October 9. Participants are given weekly reading assignments that take 15-30 minutes to complete. In addition to the class, participants gather periodically after the 9:30am Sunday Mass to “Break Open the Word” by reflecting on the Scripture readings of the week.
R.C.I.C. (Children) ~ This program prepares children (Age 7+) for initiation into the Catholic Church. The format used depends on the number and ages of children participating.
