Our Parish Patron Saint

St. Bridget was born in 453 and is considered with St. Patrick to be one of the patrons of Ireland. She became the founder of a famous monastery in Kildare and was renowned for her great generosity and compassion for the poor. She also enjoyed beer which she freely offered to those who came to her monastery. Bridget died in 525. Her feast day is February 1. She is the patron saint of babies, midwives, children whose parents aren't married, scholars, poets, travelers, and farmers.
