Dear Friends in Christ,

I want to offer public thanks for two things this week: The first is a word of gratitude to all who helped put on the “Parish Picnic & Elephant Stampede” last Sunday. Your efforts made it possible for a couple hundred parish members to gather for some wonderful and enjoyable fellowship as the Family of God here at St. Bridget’s. The gathering was also an opportunity to show our solidarity with our brothers and sisters in our sister parish in Namitembo in Malawi Africa. Thanks to all of you who contributed financial gifts to support the lives of our fellow Catholics in Africa.

Please join me in also giving thanks to God for the long life of Mrs. Barbara Sauntry who turns 100 this week. Barbara has been a member of St. Bridget’s since we were established as a parish in 1968. I have come to deeply admire Barbara, not only for her longevity, but for her deep faith and love of the Mass. She can’t really walk anymore, but with the help of caregivers, Barbara is faithfully present at most daily and Sunday Masses. Her ministry of prayer and compassion for others is a powerful gift to our parish. A blessed and happy birthday to Mrs. Sauntry! Congratulations!

St. Bridget of Kildare…pray for us!

Live Jesus in our hearts…forever!
