The Winter Shelter
Lynn Stapp, Coordinator
Our Lady of the Lake Parish hosted an emergency overnight shelter during the month of February, in conjunction with “Lake City Partners Ending Homelessness”. St. Bridget shares in the effort each year. This year’s shelter project was completed at the end of February.
Volunteer help is needed and always appreciated, so please check back again next winter! Below is what volunteers can do:
Make a Meal: St. Bridget will provide both dinner/dessert and continental breakfast for approximately 30 people. Consider doing this as a family Lenten activity, or with a group of fellow parishioners.
Act as a Host: We need two parishioners to be on site each evening and morning to assist the Lake City staffers who will also be present. Duties include serving and cleaning up after the meal, light housekeeping, and generally providing a welcoming presence to those we serve.
Thank you to everyone that came out and helped make the Winter Shelter a great success this year!
