ORGANIZATION NAME:   Young Mom’s and Dad's Group

MEETING DATE:      The second Wednesday of every month, 10:30am to 12:00pm in the nursery and fireside room.

HISTORY:  The Young Mom’s group was formed a few years ago by parishioners, Lisa Lydon and Susan Bennett. They recognized a need to associate with other women and men who had small children. They wanted a place to go where they could meet others who held similar values to their own. What better place to find those mom’s and dad's then in our parish. The chair’s of  the Young Mom’s/Dad's Group serve for two years. Their responsibility is to remind those interested in the group when the meeting will be held by sending an e-mail and getting their meetings published in the bulletin. One of the perks of chairing this group is the flexibility to determine when you meet!

HOW TO GET INVOLVED:  This group of mom’s and dad's with small children gather together on the second Wednesday of every month at 10:30 am in the Fireside Room and Nursery at the church. They do not meet in the summer time. They discuss their lives, share parenting ideas, voice concerns, and enjoy fellowship while providing their children with an opportunity to socialize with other children their age. It is also a venue to meet other young mom’s and dad's in our parish. You do not have to sign-up, just show up. All mom’s and dad's who have children that are between infancy through age four are welcome to attend. The chairs will send out a reminder e-mail before each meeting. While there is no registration required, you can e-mail Shannon or Carrie with your e-mail address if you would like to be put on the “reminder” call list. These meetings are very informal. There is no agenda—it’s a play date for your children and you!
