The Stewardship Commission was instituted by our Pastoral Council in 2005, and spent about a year studying and researching what had been written about Stewardship and what had been done by other parishes, both across the country and within our Archdiocese.

Three years ago, and with the addition of a few new members, the Stewardship Commission began getting specific about the kinds of activities that seemed to suit St. Bridget.  Some of these were immediately implemented by our staff; e.g., holding a Ministry Fair.  Others seemed like good ideas, but other groundwork had to be laid first.

Two years ago, the Archdiocese asked every parish to 1) establish a Stewardship Commission and 2) make Stewardship a part of the job description for one particular person on the parish staff.  The Archdiocese also asked each parish to begin to develop a Stewardship plan within its parish.  These mandated activities came to fruition on May 30-31 of 2008, at the annual Stewardship Formation workshop, and St. Bridget turned in its card indicating that it had established a Stewardship Commission and that Stewardship was indeed part of the job description for both Micki-Jo Palmer and Deacon Denny Duffell.  We also submitted our Stewardship Plan, which had been developed by our Stewardship Commission and approved by our Pastoral Council on May 28, 2008.
