Baby Corner ~ The Baby Corner is adjunct to the St Joseph Baby Corner and was started by a group from St Joseph parish with a mission to provide support to needy children from infancy to toddlers. Our mission is to support the Baby Corner with donations of canned food, pampers, wipes, soap (hand and baby), clean clothes, blankets, furniture, car seats, etc. Money is always in short supply and is welcome. If you have any questions or want items picked up give us a call. The need at the Baby Corner is very great and couldn't be more appreciated. Contact: Barbara Bender at 522-6073 (see Seattle Baby Corner website)
Bereaved Parents Support Group ~ Recognizing that our culture does not prepare us for the loss of a child, we provide a safe environment for parents to express their feelings, talk about the events of the child’s life as well as the death, feelings related to their grieving and reactions of family, friends and acquaintances. We are not a substitute for professional grief counseling but provide mutual support from others who share their grief and are at various stages of resolution. We are Catholic-Christian in our orientation but welcome any grieving parent. We meet the 3rd Monday each month in the Fireside Room. Contact: Liz Houlihan at 523-9748 or liz@stbridgetchurch.org OR Tom and Angie Johnson at 524-5651 for more information.
COH Camilus Group ~ We are a small group of parishioners who make weekly visits to the Catholic patients at Children's Hospital. We administer to the children and their families in many ways. (more) Contact Jake Jacobs at 522-3637
COH Hospital Outreach ~ Our primary role is to provide emergency financial assistance to families in need. Many of the families that we serve come from Central Washington, Alaska, and the surrounding states. We provide money for basic necessities such as food, clothing, transportation, and occasionally funeral expenses. Our help can be long term, depending on the medical treatment being received. Our parish also organizes the Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas Breakfast, and Christmas Dinner at Ronald MacDonald House. All these meals entail cooking for between 50 and 75 children and family members. We are always looking for volunteers to help with the holiday meals. Contact: Bob Leong at 525-6369
Funeral Receptions ~ Funeral receptions are available for those who have loved ones whose service has been celebrated at St. Bridget's. We currently have teams of six that assist at funeral receptions in the Social Hall or Fireside Rooms. The parish provides coffee/cookies following the funeral. The table and chairs are set up. The teams set out the refreshments and food as needed. During the reception trays are kept filled and coffee/tea is made readily available. Using the six teams as well as the guild members, a volunteer is called upon to assist twice a year (sometimes more or less). Contact Arlene Driscoll at 523-8787.
Namitembo Mission ~ St. Bridget has had a very active sister-parish relationship with the people of Namitembo parish in Malawi since 1997. Our involvement began when Fr. Owen O'Donnell and Fr. Harold Quigg (our pastor at the time) met while both were on sabbatical in Ireland. As they talked, the idea arose of having some kind of relationship between the two parishes.(more)
