Church Building/Environment Committee is a group of parishioners who are strongly imbued with the spirit of the liturgy, have training or formation in principles of art (Christian art in particular) and are familiar with the bishop’s statement Environment and Art in Catholic Worship. These members are responsible to ensure that there is in churches such cleanliness, quality and ornamentation as is proper for the house of God and the liturgical environment fits with the sacred character of the place. The liturgy environment committee works closely with the liturgy planning committee to make sure the needs of the liturgy are provided for with an attention to detail as well as create a spirit of contemplation, reverence and dignity for the liturgies and the space prepared for their celebrations. They meet at least quarterly or as necessary.

The parish completed the Family of Faith project with the installation of the beautiful new stained glass and the new baptismal font at the main entry of the church.  Both the glass and the font continue to impress visitors to St. Bridget.

In 2007 the Environment Committee made recommendations to the Pastoral Council to complete the two "niche" areas in the church, and to relocate the Reconciliation Chapel, opening up the wall so that the lower "Holy Spirit" window is visible from the inside.  The Archdiocese has given oral approval for the Reconciliation Chapel plans, and the parish has been in touch with an architect for the drawings.  This work should be completed by the summer or fall of 2008.
